I am so grateful for all the comments I receive, the best part of being a practitioner is when I receive a call shortly after a baby has been born to tell me how amazing HypnoBirthing is, What a privilege.
Katie and Richard, Colchester Feb 2008
"Hi Karen,
Just thought I would let you know how it all went. Baby boy, Benjamin Richard Martin born Tuesday 5th February at 0900, weighting 7lb 13 1/2 oz. Laboured at home with hypnobirthing and birth pool, 'blue lighted' to hospital 'to be on safe side' and I pushed him out all on my own. No tearing or anything else nasty. Feeling very proud but a little tired!
Am absoloutely delighted with how it all went even though I did start to get a little tired and 'lose it' a bit towards the end. Only used gas and air towards the end and I didn't feel the need to use pain relief until then. The ambulance ride was 'interesting' but it jostled him down for me to able to push him out. They were talking about ventouse delivery but I didn't give them a chance!
Will be recommending you to all friends and family and maybe one day I might be a birth partner for someone and we'll meet again. I may even look into training to become a practitioner myself as I am hoping to become a midwife in the future.
Again, thanks for all your help and enabling me to believe that I could do it.
Katie"
Emma and Richard, had their son at home in Southend, Feb 2008
"Just wanted to let you know we had our baby yesterday and he’s doing very well and weighted 7Ib 6oz. We had him at home as planned and the labour lasted about 7 hours. The midwife arrived 5 minutes before the baby and was most impressed that I didn’t have any pain relief! The hypnobirthing definitely helped with my fears about the birth and even though it didn’t stop the pain as such it gave me the confidence to trust my body and have the homebirth I really wanted. Thank you for all your help. Emma and Richard X"
Jane and Russell, Baby Shaun 9lb 1oz born in Southend Hospital 2008
(Jane had Gestational Diabetes and was induced at 40 weeks.)
"Even though I was on the drip I sat on the birthing ball the whole time and did the relaxation and breathing. Russell was brilliant at supporting me and I could not have done it without him. I had my music playing and just went with my body. When it came to the birth I sat on the birthing stool and asked for the lights out. There was a midwife and trainee midwife and a trainee doctor present and they watched the birth with torches!! It was great because I was in total control and they all just watched. It is so amazing, I am still gushing from it. The trainee midwife said she had never seen a birth like it and others couldn’t believe that I had managed on the drip with just a bit of gas and air and the hypnobirthing. I am so happy, it really was incredible. I was disappointed to have to go into hospital and be induced but I still had an amazing birth using the Hypnobirthing."
